It’s that time of the year!  The holidays are here and so are the holiday parties and soirees.  This is actually my most favorite time of the year.  What else could be better than hanging out with friends and family, enjoying some great food and drinks, and of course looking glamorous whenever you step out.  Ok, glamorous might be a little extra.  However, if you are going to be attending holiday parties, you should definitely be thinking of outfits that bring out the inner “diva” in you!
I have wanted a tulle skirt for a very long time, almost a year!  However, while I have seen many online for purchase, I have not seen one with the exact color that I wanted and simply did not want to settle.  So, as the holiday season came upon us, I decided to have one made, in the exact color that I wanted.
This custom made tulle skirt was made by a tailor at my go-to dry cleaners.  She had never done one before, but she convinced me that it was relatively easy to do.  I purchased 12 yards of this gorgeous blue tulle material at Yardage Town for $5.75 after a 25% discount.  If you know anything about tulle, you already know that this is probably one of the cheapest fabrics to purchase.   I also purchased some plain cotton material for the lining and that cost me only $6, once again, discounts applied.  My tailor charged me $35 to make the skirt and it was completed in less than a week.
I paired this beautiful tulle skirt with this cream sweater that I got from the Limited during a Black Friday sale for $18.
I love the crystal embellishments on this sweater.  Additionally, the slim fit is the perfect balance to the full tulle skirt on the bottom.   It’s also a sweater that is fabulous for the holiday season, but can be worn over and over again with various outfits.
To complete this tulle holiday outfit, I figured I would go glamorous for the footwear.  Why not!  It’s holiday time and a tulle skirt outfit demands some fabulous heels.  While searching online, I came across these beautiful Betsey Johnson heels.  The over sized glitter bow is amazing to me.  The price online wasn’t totally amazing, as they retail at $149.  However, your girl is not called the Thrifting Diva by accident.  I searched online for used pairs and came across a pair on Ebay that looked barely worn.  I was even more excited about the reduced price of $45.
This tulle skirt and sweater combo was a great alternative to the glitzy dress for my job’s holiday party.
