wool shorts + velvet blazer

wool shorts, velvet blazer and over the knee boots - thrifting divaYes, I am rocking shorts in the middle of winter!  But as you already know, “winter” in San Diego really feels like early spring.  This is the perfect weather for experimenting with fashion and of course layering.

wool shorts, velvet blazer and over the knee boots - thrifting diva wool shorts, velvet blazer and over the knee boots - thrifting divaI have had these Express wool shorts for several years now — with tags still on it!  I bought it while living in DC at TJ Maxx on clearance for $7.00.  I would admit that the purchase was definitely centered on the fact that they were so cheap!  I mean, $7.00 for wool shorts!  However, I couldn’t bring myself to wear them during the winter months on the East coast because — well, it’s way too cold to be wearing shorts in the winter!  But, here in San Diego, they have found a home.

wool shorts, velvet blazer and over the knee boots - thrifting divaMy favorite boots purchase this season are these over the knee boots.  You have seen these boots here on the blog already.   I also choose to go with fish net stockings, simply to add to the texture mixes.  I think the over the knee boots give this outfit a certain flair that I am all about.
