I am sorry I am little behind in posting this. It’s late not because I don’t have A LOT to say, but because momma dukes is visiting San Diego for the first time so I have been showing her around — mostly all the thrift shops we can hit up on a daily basis:)
Well, let’s get to the recap of the First San Diego Thrifting Bus Tour hosted by your Thrifting Diva! The tour was held this past Saturday, on June 21st here in the beautiful San Diego and it was FABULOUS! There was laughter, a little drinking (maybe more than a little), eating and shopping, and simply a great time shared between some awesome ladies. We spent a full day being chauffeured around to various thrift, consignment and vintage stores around San Diego and we all came away with some awesome scores. You can check out what I personally picked up in my video, San Diego Thrifting Bus Tour Haul HERE.
First stop – Buffalo Exchange on 5th Avenue. I especially loved the huge giveaway tote bag they gave to each Thrifting Diva on the tour. We also received a $5 coupon off ever $20 spent, which was a definite BONUS!!!!

We then headed to Goodwill on 16th Street and can I tell you, the VIP treatment continued. We were warmly welcomed by the manager on on our awesome bus, where we received 20% off coupons to be used Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Additionally, at the end of our shopping, there was a raffle, where many of the thrifting divas received some fabulous giveaways!

Speaking of those pink tote bags. Each thrifting diva received a Thrifting Diva bag as a thank you gift from me. Using the bag throughout the tour allowed the participating stores to know who was a part of the fabulous event and who was eligible to receive giveaways and discounts.

Next up, United Cerebral Palsy Thrift (UCP) on El Cajon Blvd. UCP had excellent daily deals with an additional 20% discount given for items that did not have some sort of discount with a few exceptions! I personally racked up on shoes at this store and did not pay more than $5 for each pair. Can you say SCORE!!!

We then stopped at Thrift Traders on Iowa Street. Here, showing the pink bags got the Thrifting Divas 20% off their total bill! LOVE it.

Last store for the day was Frock You Vintage. Designer and stylist, Medavog Couture saw the pink tote bags and instantly offered us 50% off everything in his section! I tell you guys, the bag had magical thrift powers:).

What a FABULOUS day! I truly hope to do this again in the future. Would you be interested in spending a day shopping like this?

You make me want to go thrift shopping so bad! I’ll have to look up what stores are around me for thrift shopping (fairly new to my area so I don’t know where any are!!). Wish I lived out in Cali to join your next thrift bus. Such a great idea!

Rebecca,
lol…go thrifting! Google thrift stores in your area and head out. There has to be at a minimum a Goodwill or Salvation Army nearby I would assume. If you are ever in Cali visiting though, you definitely have to let me know so I can take you around.
Congratulations! Looks like everyone had a great fun time and a little less jingle in their wallets because of all the fab hauls.
I did the thrift tour once and had a great time too! Is that a lace peplum top with the blue piping? I have a similar top but sleeveless and red piping! Great minds think alike dear *wink*
Karen,
Thank you honey! Yes, we had a GREAT time, and although it was a haul, when you are thrifting you are not spending a fortune. Yay! And, yes, it is a peplum top with blue piping– isn’t it adorable? Fashionistas thinking alike is true.
It looked like you guys had an amazing time! Looking forward to more thrifting fun!!!!
Trista,
Indeed we did have a wonderful time and I can’t wait for the next one. Hope you will be on that bus!
