This weekend I spent several hours cleaning out my closet. I am so very excited for my upcoming Fashion Exchange aka Chic Swap Party. As the summer is coming to a close in a few weeks, what better way to update my wardrobe with awesome items without using my CREDIT CARDS!
The fashion exchange will take place on Sunday, August 17th at 3pm. Ladies will bring a minimum of five awesome pieces (clothes, handbags, shoes or statement accessories) to exchange for awesome pieces. However, anyone who knows me, knows I love to entertain. So, this event will include some great appetizers, a signature cocktail and other drinks, vendors who offer some great products and some pampering.
If you are in the San Diego area, bring along a friend and meet some other thrifting divas. You may purchase tickets at www.thriftingdivasexchange.eventbrite.com. Use the promo code DIVA to get your tickets for only $10 until August 10th.
Last week, my Facebook group, Thrifting Divas, completed our first thrift challenge- Thrifty Price, Wear It Twice. This challenge asked Thrifting Divas to style one thrifty item of $10 and less, two different ways. Tanesha Brown of Thrift and Boast was the winner. Check out how she flawlessly styled an over sized dress. This diva has skills for sure. Less than $10, and she pulled off two AWESOME outfits.
If you are not already in the group, you should definitely check it out. Daily inspirations, challenges, and lots of pics shared in the group.
Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays and I launched the Thrift Sisters link up last week! Please don’t forget to link up your favorite thrifted or thrifty priced outfit post HERE.
That are really two well done looks! And the color of the dress is lovely. A great find.

Thanks Alex, for your compliments. Finding pieces like this isn’t rare but, requires patients. Both colors were rich and the textures went very well together. I love thrifting! Thanks again. If your on facebook, check out my group, What you see is not what you get.
Sounds like a fun event! Both of those looks work well, but I love using the dress as a coat! She nailed it!

Thanks Robincharmagne for the compliment! I love shirt dresses and pockets on a dress do it for me. Given I was able to wear this by itself was a super plus in my book. It pays to walk up and down the aisle, you never know what your going to find.
Hey Ayana, this sounds like a fun event and a great way to get some new clothes without spending money.
So impressed with her remix! Great inspiration.

Thanks Amy, for your kind words. I love putting things together and when you have rich colors, the combination can be explosive if done right. If your on FB, join the group, What you see is not what you get.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. All of the items in both pictures, excluding shoes, were thrifted. It goes to show you that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look like a “million” bucks. If you’re on Facebook, join the group What you see is not what you get for fashion ideas, tips and more.

Laura,
It would be awesome if we were to meet up one day in any city!!! Yes, she definitely did her thing with those pieces.
Seriously, live next to me! I would love to join in on something like this!
Leanna,
Hahahaah. Where do you live? We might be close, you never know. We held it this Saturday, and it was a TON of fun.
