We are loving the houndstooth pattern this week!  Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays and I decided to show off different ways to rock houndstooth.  Check out Keren’s blog for the details on her houndstooth jacket and shorts.  You are not going to believe how much she paid for this outfit!

On a recent date night with hubby, I decided to totally channel Ms. Olivia Pope with this houndstooth coat!  I found this gem at Ross Dress For Less (not a sponsored post by the way) for only $8.00 on a clearance rack.  When I first glanced at this coat on the racks, I thought there had to be some serious mistake with the pricing.  Believe me, I checked all over to make sure there weren’t any “irregularities.”  But, finding none, I happily paid my $8.00 plus tax and waited for the perfect evening to wear it.

On an evening when the temperature dipped in the low 60’s here in San Diego (sorry for those who are experiencing low teens), I figured this would be an awesome date night look.  Check out the high low cut, the wide faux leather belt and the extra wide collar.  I absolutely love this houndstooth coat!

Going all out for the date, I opted for this thrifted Guess white dress.  I thrifted this dress for $7.99 at the Goodwill.  I think the mesh pieces at the top and bottom makes this dress.  Definitely a great look for a night out.

I completed this look with some thigh high boots from Chinese Laundry.  I personally believe every woman should own a pair of thigh high boots for those outfits they want to bring out their inner sexy!  Got this pair from Zappos at a very reasonable sale price of $79.00.

I am excited to pair this houndstooth coat with other various pieces and of course bright colors from my closet   Are you a fan of the houndstooth pattern?
