Florals and Stripes! This week, Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays and I are styling our striped button down shirts with our floral skirts. Check out Keren’s blog for the details on her super cute floral pencil skirt and blue striped button down shirt.
I know you won’t believe me when I say that this outfit cost a total of $40, head to toe! But, it does.
I thrifted this J Crew pin striped button down shirt from AMVETS in San Diego, for only $2.00. The purple color definitely made me want to buy it immediately. A little tip for you. Button down shirts are one of the easiest items to find at your local thrift and consignment stores. These shirts are in abundance, and often can be found for less than $5.00.
I had been on a hunt for a floral skirt for the longest. However, not wanting to pay the retail price, I simply kept it on my thrift wish list. I finally found it at a Buffalo Exchange in Las Vegas for $8.00, my kind of price for sure. I was especially excited about the pops of purple color in the skirt.
One of my favorite parts of this outfit is this large purple floppy hat! I am not a hat person, but I certainly fell in love with this one and thus paid a hefty price of $15 for it from Lost and Found Recycled Fashion in Hillcrest, San Diego. I choose nude pumps to complete this outfit, since there was enough colors with the floral pattern. You have certainly seen these pumps several times on this blog before, like here and here. These INC International Concepts pumps cost only $15 on a super clearance at Macys!
Have you tried mixing your stripes with floral? If not, check out your local thrift stores to find the pieces and give it a try.
Now, it’s time to jump into our Thrift Sisters link up! Keren and I launched our Thrift Sisters link up, encouraging you to post thrifted or thrifty priced items to this link up. We are very appreciative of those who take the time to link up their great outfits. This week’s featured Thrift Sister is Darlene from Whos A Pretty Girl. We especially love her snake print flats and thrifted safari jacket. Check out her blog for great thrifty style inspirations.
Now it’s your turn to join us this week. Please note that you can still link up with us even your items are not thrifted. We are looking for your favorite thrifted OR thrifty priced item. Go ahead and link away for a chance to be featured as our next Thrift Sister!
