vintage dress + thrift sisters link up

vintage dress - thrifting divaThis week, Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays and I are showing off vintage!  Check out Keren’s blog for the details on this vintage dress that is simply gorgeous and ultra flattering.

vintage dress - thrifting divavintage dress - thrifting divaI will be honest with you.  I don’t own that many pieces that are vintage or even vintage inspired.  But, adding more vintage pieces to my wardrobe is definitely on my thrift wish list for 2015.  I decided to give this dress a try as a recent outfit for brunch with some friends.

vintage dress - thrifting diva vintage dress - thrifting divaYou won’t believe me when I say that I paid only $1.00 for this dress at Thrift Traders here in San Diego.  Although the price was definitely right, I wasn’t too sure of the style.  I am not entirely comfortable rocking vintage pieces as the last thing I want to do when I dress, is to age myself.  However, I absolutely loved the ruffles at the top, with the gold piping and of course the high collar.  I have no clue who made this dress as the tag was removed.  But, vintage or not, it’s a little black dress and I figured I could add some elements to the dress to modernize it just a little.

Entire outfit, $22.00.
