Pops of color is my thing! I love wearing color and don’t believe that we should be limited to wearing bright colors only in the spring and summer. Besides, I live in San Diego, and the bright sunshine everyday simply gives me an additional reasons to wear color all the time.
I originally styled this outfit without the bright yellow cardigan. However, you know when you have styled an outfit but you know something is missing. I spotted the yellow cardigan in the drawers, and paired against the navy blue and white, I knew it was the missing factor.
The bright, yellow blazer is an American Eagle Outfitters sweater that I thrifted in a Goodwill in New York City for $7.99. This sweater retails for over $50. Underneath, is a white sheer blouse that I purchased from Charming Charlie for only $9.99 after waiting for it to go on clearance. Honestly, paying full price for anything is simply too hard for me.
Blazers are a staple for me during the fall and winter months. This navy blue wool blazer was thrifted from AMVETS for only $2.99. If you have not tried thrifting blazers yet, you should really give it a try. There are always tons of blazers to be had and it’s probably one of the items that you save the most when compared to what you would pay retail.
As I wanted a casual outfit, I paired the blazer and cardigan with these denim skinny jeans. I have had these jeans for years — a great thrift years ago! I am just glad that they continue to fit well.
Finally, just to add a little dimension to outfit, I went with these black and white animal print heels from Victoria Secrets that I bought on clearance several months ago. They are a fun pair of heels that can definitely make an outfit stand out, as you saw here and here.
